The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of Bapatla Women’s Engineering College (BWEC), Bapatla, successfully organized a One-Week National Level Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Fundamentals of Quantum Computing.”

The programme was jointly organized by the IETE Bapatla Sub-Centre and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) with the objective of providing faculty members, researchers, and academicians with comprehensive knowledge of the rapidly emerging field of Quantum Computing, which is transforming the future of computing and scientific research worldwide.

The sessions were delivered by Prof. Dr. Anirban Bhattacharjee, SVNIT Surat, who served as the Resource Person for the programme. He provided in-depth insights into the mathematical foundations of quantum computing, qubits, quantum gates, quantum circuits, superposition, entanglement, the no-cloning theorem, quantum interference, multi-qubit systems, and emerging research opportunities in the field. The interactive sessions enabled participants to gain a strong conceptual understanding of quantum technologies and their potential applications in next-generation computing.

Speaking on the occasion, the Management of Bapatla Women’s Engineering College and Principal Dr. C.H. Himabindu stated that the FDP offered an excellent platform for faculty members, researchers, and academicians to update their knowledge of the latest advancements in Quantum Computing while enhancing their technical expertise and exploring future research opportunities in this cutting-edge domain.

The Management also expressed its sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Anirban Bhattacharjee for his insightful sessions and acknowledged the support extended by the Council for Skills and Competencies – India in the successful conduct of the programme.

The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of faculty members, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals representing colleges and universities from various states across India, making the programme a grand success.
