Bapatla Women’s Engineering College (BWEC), under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), successfully organized a Free Mega Medical Camp on Saturday at the college Open Auditorium, reaffirming its commitment to community service and student welfare.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. V. Divya Tejomurthy, NSS Coordinator, Acharya Nagarjuna University, under the leadership of Dr. C.H. Himabindu, Principal of Bapatla Women’s Engineering College. As a mark of respect and environmental responsibility, the dignitaries, medical professionals, and NSS volunteers were felicitated with indoor plants.

The Mega Medical Camp witnessed the participation of renowned medical professionals who rendered their valuable services in various specialties:

• Ophthalmology (Eye Check-up): Mr. G. Ajay, Ophthalmic Officer
• Dental Check-up: Dr. Navya (BDS) and Dr. Divya (BDS), Siri Dental Care, Bapatla
• Dermatology & Hair Care: Dr. K. Madhu Babu, Renee’s Rejoice Multi-Speciality Clinic
• Gynecology: Dr. Haseena Begum (MBBS, DGO), Vijaya Hospital, Chirala

The medical camp received an overwhelming response from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff. A total of 949 beneficiaries availed themselves of the free medical services. The specialty-wise details are as follows:

• Eye Check-ups: 256
• Dental Check-ups: 122
• Skin & Hair Consultations: 356
• Gynecological Consultations: 215

During the camp, the medical experts created awareness on healthcare, disease prevention, personal hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices, besides offering medical consultations and guidance to those requiring further treatment.

The programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. K. Krishnakumari and Mrs. G. Kalyani, NSS Programme Officers, with the active support of NSS Volunteers, who played a significant role in ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

On this occasion, the Management of Bapatla Education Society, Principal Dr. C.H. Himabindu, and Vice Principal Mrs. I. Haritha congratulated the medical team, the Chief Guest, NSS Programme Officers, and the volunteers for their dedicated efforts. They emphasized that the institution would continue organizing such community-oriented initiatives in the future as part of its commitment to social responsibility, healthcare awareness, and holistic student development.
