Bapatla Women’s Engineering College (BWEC) successfully organized a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI Tools for Teaching and Research” from July 8 to 10, 2026, aimed at equipping faculty members with the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for effective teaching and research.
The programme featured Dr. D. Sai Satish, CEO of Indian Servers and an expert in AI solutions powered by Indian server infrastructure, as the Resource Person. He conducted comprehensive sessions covering both theoretical concepts and hands-on applications of AI in higher education.
Throughout the three-day training programme, faculty members received practical exposure to AI-powered teaching and research tools. The sessions focused on curriculum planning, lesson preparation, content creation, question paper generation, assignment design, presentation development, student learning analytics, research paper writing, literature review, data analysis, and the effective integration of AI into academic research.
Addressing the participants, Dr. D. Sai Satish emphasized that the adoption of AI-enabled teaching methodologies is essential for achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He stated that AI is not a replacement for teachers but a powerful assistant that enhances teaching effectiveness, promotes creativity, and enables a more student-centric learning environment.
He also highlighted the importance of using AI tools hosted on Indian servers to ensure data privacy, institutional security, and regulatory compliance. Responsible and ethical use of AI, he noted, can significantly improve educational quality and help researchers achieve international standards in academic excellence.
Faculty members actively participated in hands-on demonstrations and explored various AI applications firsthand. They expressed that the programme greatly enhanced their understanding of AI technologies and would help them improve both classroom teaching and research productivity.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ch. Himabindu, Principal of BWEC, said that embracing modern technologies and AI-driven teaching practices would empower faculty members to deliver high-quality education and create a more engaging learning experience for students. Ms. I. Haritha, In-Charge Principal, remarked that such faculty development initiatives play a vital role in enhancing professional competencies and assured that the institution would continue organizing similar programmes in the future.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Principal, In-Charge Principal, Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and staff from various departments. At the valedictory session, the college management felicitated Dr. D. Sai Satish in recognition of his valuable contribution and distributed Certificates of Participation to all the faculty members who successfully completed the programme.
