Bapatla Women’s Engineering College (BWEC)

Bapatla Women’s Engineering College (BWEC) has established the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) as per the guidelines of MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in the year 2022.
The initiative aims to create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem, support start-ups, establish a
functional system for scouting and pre-incubation of ideas, and enhance the cognitive abilities of
technology students.

BWEC IIC is actively involved in organizing seminars, workshops, field trips, project exhibitions,
entrepreneurship bootcamps, idea competitions and expert interactions for students and faculty
with experts from various industries and institutions.

Vision

To create a dynamic, innovation-based system that encourages staff and students to be innovative,
fosters their ideas, nurtures a start-up culture, and links them with relevant organisations and industry.

Mission

• M1: To provide a supportive environment for the incubation and growth of educators’
  and students’ ideas and start-ups through organised initiatives and industry relationships.
• M2: To organise innovation-related activities such as seminars, contests and expert
  discussions to foster creativity, critical thinking and develop a strong mentor network.
• M3: To provide a platform for educators and students to develop prototypes and
  market sustainable, innovative ideas adhering to national and international standards.
• M4: To establish strong relationships with entrepreneurs, investors and national
  organisations to provide market access, funding opportunities and mentorship.

Functions of IIC

• Promote innovation in the institution through multiple modes leading to an innovation
  promotion ecosystem on campus.
• Conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by
  the Central MIC in a time-bound manner.
• Identify and reward innovative ideas and share success stories.
• Organize periodic workshops, seminars and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors
  and professionals, and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
• Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
• Create an Institution’s Innovation Portal to showcase innovative projects carried out
  by the institution’s faculty and students.
