The Government of India, under the visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has initiated transformative reforms in the space sector. These initiatives aim to promote space education, research, and development across the country.
The celebration of National Space Day on August 23 marks a significant milestone in this direction. It reflects India’s commitment to innovation, scientific excellence, and advancements in space exploration.
In alignment with the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan@2047, the Bharat Space Education Research Centre organized a two-day Advanced Drone Defense Workshop and Aircraft Design Workshop under the “Def-Space Program.” As part of this initiative, students of Bapatla Women’s Engineering College actively participated in a two-day “Defense Drone Technology and Integration Workshop.”
This workshop was conducted under the guidance of the Bharat Space Education Research Centre (an ISRO-affiliated organization).
During the program, students were introduced to:
- Drone technology and its applications
- Importance of drones in the defense sector
- Hands-on training in drone assembling, operation, and integration
Through practical sessions, students gained valuable technical knowledge and real-time experience in drone systems.
This initiative not only enhanced the technical skills of the students but also sparked greater interest in the fields of defense and space technology. The college management appreciated and encouraged the students for their enthusiastic participation.
At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates were distributed to all participants. The Principal, Dr. Chinni Himabindu, Head of Department B. Mahalakshmi, and the organizing team expressed their happiness over the students’ achievements and emphasized that such training programs will be highly beneficial for their future.
