An insightful Alumni Talk on the topic “Career Guidance and Opportunities in the Defence Sector” was successfully organized by the Alumni Cell of Bapatla Women’s Engineering College.
The program featured distinguished alumna Ms. V. Gayathri (ECE Batch 2017–2021), who is currently serving as a Girl Cadet Instructor (GCI) at the 2(O) Girls Battalion NCC, Rayagada, Odisha, as the Chief Guest.
During her session, she provided valuable insights into career opportunities in the defence sector, including the selection process, essential skills, and the importance of discipline. She particularly emphasized the role of NCC in shaping leadership qualities, building confidence, and instilling a strong sense of patriotism. Her motivational speech inspired students to explore opportunities in serving the nation.

The event was efficiently coordinated by the Alumni Coordinators Ms. D. Tejaswi and Mrs. S.K. Shameer, ensuring smooth execution of the program.
Students from CSE, ECE, and AI & ML departments (Final Year – 4/4) actively participated and showed great interest throughout the session. The program provided clarity on defence career pathways and encouraged students to consider a future in national service.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Ch. Hima Bindu, Vice Principal Mrs. I. Haritha, Head of CSE Department Mrs. G. Venkateswari, Head of ECE Department Mrs. B. Mahalakshmi, and Head of S&H Department Mrs. M. Suvarnalakshmi, who motivated the students and appreciated the initiative.
The college management expressed that such programs play a crucial role in guiding students towards promising careers and fostering a spirit of service towards the nation.
